Snowflake Bentley is based on a true story about a boy named Wilson Bentley and his thrill of capturing pictures of snowflakes. Wilson lived on a farm with his family in Vermont, where the snow can reach up to 120 inches. He wanted to capture a picture of a snowflake to share with others. With a telescope he tries to capture the snowflake by drawling them, however they keep melting to fast. Wilson's parents spend there savings on a new camera for Wilson's interest in capturing snowflakes. At first Wilson's pictures were pretty bad, but with his optimistic attitude he progressively became better. Wilson later wrote a book about snow and published his pictures in a magazine. When he went to go publish his book, Wilson was stuck in a snow storm, where he became ill and died. In memory of his passing his family and friends built a museum of his work so everyone would know him as snowflake bentley.
